[attachment 36961 4thhuntgrp.jpg] I went out today thinking that there wasn't going to be much silver, since this park is supposed to be hunted out... Well, I don't think so because I have dug more SILVER in the last 4 days than in the whole season of 2004. Total so far is 50 Silvers... Over 150 clads
[attachment 36962 4thhuntgrp2.jpg]I was also very tired of the multiple signals in this wooded area. No wonder there is so much silver there. The Other Hunters must have gotton tired of all the trash in there woods. So... What to do... I took a half hour our before hunting and found my self a section of grass free from metal. I bought along a Walking Liberty, A Barber Quarter, Some Merc, A Barber Dime, A Rosie, and an Indian Penny, There are the results my Brothers and Sisters. This program gave me a lot of time to just find silver, and talk about depth... Some Mercs were 10 to 12" down, amazing. One of the Quarters was under a tree root at about 14", that's the quarter on the lower right...
[attachment 36963 willtodo.jpg] I got the Barber Dime near a big tree and that one was at least 14" under the roots again, hard work getting that one... 1912, no mint mark.
[attachment 36964 silverprogram.jpg] This Program worked like a charm. I was not sure how effective it was going to be, but the moment I went into the area I was in, I was blessed with 4 silvers in a row... A Silver Quarter Washington, and 3 Mercs. Here's how I did it... Man I need to produce a treasure hunting video.
I can't stress enough that you must go very slow while scanning the ground or swing if you prefer
I took a half hour our before hunting and found my self a section of grass free from metal. I bought along a Walking Liberty, A Barber Quarter, Some Merc, A Barber Dime, A Rosie, and an Indian Penny. First lower your sensitivity down to 5 or 6, if it still noisey, lower it more. Make certain that you are not receiving interference and noise cancel with the coil up about a foot and a half from the ground. Planes caused a couple of white blips on the screen, but I edited them out after the ptogram was done, also remember to save the program after the edit mode. Go to your learn section of your Explorer. I then placee the Half Dollar down where I was sure there was no metals, and I press the check in the first box, it'll blink... now slowly scan the coin, at first you will not hear anything, but by the third pass your Explorer will pick up the half... scan it a few times slowly or you'll get white blips, hit the check mark to accept that target.
Then work down with the quarter, lay the coil on the soil, hit the check acceptence and scan the quarter, repeat and hit the check mark and it'll stop blinking. If by any chance you begin receiving to many white blips in the left hand side of the screen, you'll have to move, Don't do this program in the house, it will not be any good to you. After you have programmed all the coins by making sure you hear a solid signal, save program even if it has white blips... Go to edit with the detect button and hit the button on the right at the top, and your cursor will pulse light and dark... use the arrow keys to where you have the white blips, hit the arrow one ata time, because if you hit 4 times, the cursor will move 4 times and if you do that to the right, you will darken the program and you'll have to start all over, that's why I told you to save the program in case you do that, you can go bsck to the saved program and go to edit again. Pick the medium size block and hit the box under the check and an X will appear, now you can black out the white blips on the left side or the bottom for that matter. Now this is tricky... You need to make sure you save the program right there and hit the save button and the number box you want to save at, and remember you can custom make up to six programs for you on useer A... and six on user B... As you can see I upped my sensitivity to 19 and got very good depth, if I went to 21 I got to much talk and chose to drop it two notches. Threshold near silent to hear deepies, Volume 10, Veriables 8, Gain 7... Deep ON, Fast ON... Dig all solid signals, and if you get those iffy signals, try multiple scan from different angles and you'll be surprise how clear they may sound from another angle. If you have any questions.... e-mail me and I'll try to help or answer your questions... Thanks for reading...
Happy Hunting Brothers and Sisters.
Philo_NY how I felt after the hunt....
