Here is the big one! 202 coins 2 rings!

That's a marathon hunt to say the least! That gold ring looks great. Don't you just love finding the gold? Nothing like a little treasure to keep you going until the next one pops out. Congrats! Mike

Holey Moley Gregg...You must really be SMOKEN when you hunt. Where do you hunt,Central Park...You need to make a DVD of your method of hunting and digging. I think we all could learn something.

All the parks I hunt have sports activities daily now. I work midnights which allows me to hunt in morning. I always observe where the people gather. I had two very strange recoveries yesterday one was 50 coins, but not a coin spill. I noticed a small area in the park I was at where there used to be a garden. It was unkept and looks bad...like a little jungle. I went in and noticed empty whiskey bottles, half eaten sandwiches and I hate to say this used toilet paper. The smell was really bad. In the back of the area there was a tree with an unusual amount of leaves that seemed to be smashed down. I got a very strong signal like a quarter...though for sure it was a pop can. I moved the leaves aside and found this! (see picture) I continued in this one foot area and recovered exactly 50 coins. mainly quarters, it was obvious the money had been hid there.

After about 3 hours of hunting I walked back to my car and counted the coins, I had 117 coins, that included the 50. I thought what the hell I can get 200! I had a bottle of water and went back out.

I went by a tree and found 32 straight pennies, mainly on the surface, those I recovered in 20 minutes. I then noticed a group of homeless people go right into the area I found the hidden coins! I got a little nervous because one approached me and asked how I was doing. I had the gold ring I found on my finger and it was still dirty so I showed him the ring, not telling him it was gold. He just said thats a little girls toy ring and laughed and walked away.

So I had 2 hours that it took me to find the last 53 coins, it seemed like forever...I keep thinking the bums were going to ask for the hidden coins back!

Some people say " You don't get much excercise metal detecting ", and I say let them go with you once. LOL Dennis in Idaho

Yes sometimes driving home I am thinking....hey maybe you dug a little to much! But i do not plan on doing that again unless I find a giant coin spill or another hidden stash from the bums! I will check there again by that tree! I bet the bums beat each other up when the change was gone! Imagine those poor bums had to panhandle an extra hour to get what it took me 6 hours to find!

nice score of loot!! So far I've had my best clad day at a high school. I know the feeling after 6 hours of hunting, where is the ibuprofen and the bud light!

The clad is all over the place, I think anyone going to local parks should be finding it...or checking to make sure their detector is working! Most parks after I hit them I just wait a month and hit the exact spots and there is always surface clad and some I missed! Also in September and October I have 51 of 61 days off work! Remember I am only hunting a total of 9-11 hours a week on average. So I think that will be an interesting period of time!:detecting:
