it says that it protects ur MD from radio frequencys sorry can't post linc it will get removed (they think i'm selling this stufffrom the effects of EMI / RFI

Erratic and false readings can be caused by electrical noise and surges picked up by the search coil and cable acting like an antenna.
Stop digging dry holes. Immunize your Metal Detector from the effects of stray EMI / RFI.

EMI and RFI (ElectroMagnetic & Radio Frequency Interference) can reduce your detector's sensitivity and cause reading errors. Suppression of external electrical and electronic noise allows you to crank up your Metal Detector's sensitivity control for higher gain and deeper scanning. Get more reliable and accurate readings.

Here's an inexpensive but effective way to reduce or block EMI & RFI and random noise from manmade and natural sources such as broadcast and mobile transmitters, power lines and even distant lightning. You've experienced the devastation it does to Radio and TV reception even to local stations with strong signals.
This filter only attenuates the harmful external interference picked up by the search coil and cable. It has no effect on the internal electronic signals operating within your metal detector's control box and wiring.

Safe for use at the beach or streams. Water will not damage it or reduce effectiveness.

Ever notice those odd cylindrical "lumps" at the ends of electronic power and interface cables? Manufacturers routinely use this same technology to control EMI / RFI in computers, printers and other sensitive electronic equipment. Radio engineers use similar cores with all types of radio communications equipment to eliminate interference.

Worthless..... It has been hashed over on the Mods forum........ http://www.findmall.com/read.php?22,1291783

Ferrite filters are often the first stage of the input circuit on your detector anyway.

a gimic for someone to make money, about 10c each to make, if they did anything i think the manufacturer would have them in already

Kinda looks like the thing that goes on your fuel line and supposed to get an extra 10 + miles per gallon ummm hmmm. Useless.
