I large copper ring. This is very ornate and 5 1/2" across, and 1 5/8" wide. Some have guessed napkin ring or bracelet, but it is much biggerthan that. Also some have said ring for old oil lamp, but again it is 5 1/2" diam. There are no attachment spots on it, like a place to put a screw through. Take you best guess!

I think it is a ring for an oil lamp, the ring that holds the globe on , It would not have any holes in it, the globe sits inside the ring and the ring sits on the lamp.
