Here is an update on a post I made earlier this week.

As some of you may remember. I ordered an $80 book for a class my wife is taking at the local college. When it got to my place the mailman rolled it up and stuffed it in the mailbox, when two feet away I have a lockbox just for packages. Called the post office and they would have nothing to do with it. They didn't even ask my address to reprimand the carrier.

Well yesterday I was finally able to get in touch with the book store and they immediately apologized and offered a 50% refund. I win!

But I am still going to go up the ladder at the post office because they didn't care less that one of their customers had a problem. Anyone got the home phone number for the Postmaster General? :pulltab:

which central post office covers your post office. Such as Hartford Ct. covers the surrounding towns of New Britain, Rocky Hill etc. Then you go to the postmaster at that central post office with your complaint. They oversee the surrounding post offices and personnel, this may or may not get you any results but it is the chain of command. Going to the Postmaster General gets you no-wheres fast. Going to your congressman or whatever will not work since the Postal Service is private and not controlled by the government entirely. Postal workers have to "bid" on their routes and have the keys to the lock boxes. What may have happened was that you had a substitute mail person who did not have the keys to the lock box and did the best he could to get your package delivered. It would have been much easier for him to stick it in the lock box than to try and stuff it in your mailbox.

We have had more than our fair share of postal problems both with our business and at home so I know the process.

she was worse and less helpful than the local postoffice. I have to do some research.

If that doesn't work I just may have to get her in a headlock and whomp her.
