a while back. If you have an object that is hard to read and you want to photograph it what I found that works best in late afternoon sunlight when the light is low in the sky. It brings out the detail.......
Or if you have a copy stand with lights pull one of the lights away from the object and move the other light until you get the desired result.
 
Copy stand has lights attached to it and the ability to attach a camera for macro or close-up work.... let me surf and see if I can find a pic for you
 
That's a very good close-up. I've jury-rigged up some small lights but don't have a stand to hold the camera. I have to hand hold the camera. Thanks,

I'll check out your story. I bought the Testrite Mini copy model TR-CS7 ($72.95). I already have homemade lights. Thanks for the info.
