For the new Digital camera guy/gal click on RECOMMENDED CAMERAS ...lots of good ideas...just remember that its based on HIS experience and they are his professional opinions.

the guy is opinionated about his cameras and NOT ALL cameras are covered...MANY good tips and reviews.....check out the different tabs..the one thing that caught my eye a long time ago is that he stated that all you need is a camera with 6Megapixels...i sorty disagree with him...but for the average person? it would suffice....you can produce a nice 8x10 picture...certainly not poster size...as far as ZOOM...for the new people its about OPTICAL zoom as opposed to DIGITAL zoom....always look for OPTICAL ZOOM numbers on a point and shoot...
