Here is a shot of this year's coin finds.

So far about 6-8 inches of white stuff on the ground with more to come ! If this signals the end of the detecting season, here is a shot of this year's keepers. Totals are: 1 large cent (1829), 55 indian head cents, one nickel 3 cent piece, one seated liberty half dime, 2 shield nickels, 23 V nickels, 46 Buffalo nickels, 12 silver war nickels, 7 Barber dimes, 7 mercury dimes, 1 silver British 3 pence, 5 civil war tokens and one slave auction token. Also dug just over $100.00 in clad and about 100 Wheaties. All in all not a bad year. As you can see, silver finds are slim around here. Need to find some new spots for next year !

Real nice Ed.......................The civil pieces are exceptional!................I think I've found one Indian this year, but have done pretty good on silver..

A great bunch of finds - good job ! :beers:

Great finds, when we used those old 3d coins we used to put them in Christmas puddings , it gave to kids a treat . You could buy lots with one of those .
What date is it ?
I have had a few off land and beach over the last few years.

That's a 50% Silver , unlike the pre 1919 which were 92% . From 1947 they are all Nickel .
They are still issued with Maundy money that the Queen gives out to a certain few each year for doing something good I think , not sure what they are made of though.
