Sovereign Visual Meter , cool first time iam seeing this any one ever try this out ?? on the Sovereign , looks like it could come in handy in a hunt
Sovereigns give you Tone ID to help identify the target, the Tones are so close that this Visual LCD Intensity Type can assist you in adding visual discrimination in the subtle way it reacts. Very difficult to find and Minelab is no longer making them. this could be added to the Meter sticky . Jim

It's in the meter sticky (ID chart sticky). Second page I believe, and with quotes from others on it. Original meter for the first Sov. Most didn't care for it, but I posted a few quotes from a few in there that like it and use it to this day I think.

As Critter says this is the original meter Minelab made for the Sovereigns before 1996 and most didn't care for them so Sun Ray made the digital 180 meter which went over great as it was much more accurate. then Minelab made the 550 digital meter to replace their original meter which worked so much better then the original meter did, but yet most like the Sun Ray 180 meter as it was more stable and easier to ID with. Finally someone was able to convert the 550 meter to 180 and posted what needed to be done which helped out so many, plus a few other companies were making a 180 meter too at that time . With this I feel Minelab started making their meter to be 180 meter and know they did sell lot of them when they made their meters a 180 meter.
I feel the meters most want are the Sun Ray DTI 3 and the DTI 2 meters plus the Minelab Digisearch 180 meters. There was the analog meter too Joe Patrick made called the Patriot meter that many really like, but no longer being made as he has now what is called the Insight meter that is built into the control box. The best deal though for the money is Ron's meters he build which are very reasonable for what it take to make them.

Myself I like the Sun Ray meters as they sit at a very nice viewing angle and easy to see when detecting, but on the Elite and GT seem to sit maybe too high when using a S-1 probe, but work good for me.
