Yep I had the explorer Se and returned it to the dealer because it was sold as the SE PRO
Now-I have the money to get an etrac but first I think I will get the SE Pro or the explorer II and learn as much as I can which everyone tells me the explorer II is the same as the SE pro except for processor speed if it has the Pro coil on it
so as of right now I am looking again but have to determine which one I want.
In the meantime I bought the eldorado from backwoods and the Golden umax from a member here. Those are for when I want to take something light in my canoe and go to those lakes.
The explorer II is a lot cheaper in the forums. Time is running out as cold weather is just a couple of months away.
Wish I could find some stash from the revolutionary war or even the Civil war.
Well good luck to all of us!

Keep in mind the Explorer II is getting Old. In fact it may not have parts available for much longer just like the XS......

I would buy a used SE...and get a pro coil used for adding to the Se as you learn it. Or Just Buy a Se Pro.. Money being the factor, the Se may be a better fit for your finances.

If you can afford an E-trac certainly consider that too... I myself use the Se Pro because I like it better.. You may find the E-Trac is a better fit....

The Exp II"s are great detectors for sure............. Time may be the factor that eliminates the choice for it..

Good luck with what ever your choice is ............ Just don't let a few bucks saved right now place you in a position where you may have to spend more money sooner than later..

I hear you
