I was wondering why the deer seem a bit scarce around here the last few days. I took a ride and found out why. There is an area over by the Mason Tract, where I kayak, that has been cut over. I drove over to take a look and was amazed.

First I saw some Partrege and then I started seeing deer. The snow has left in the open, not like it is back here in the woods and the deer were there feeding on the fresh grass, well one heck of a lot better than the food they have been scrounging through this rough winter. They were all over the place and I mean almost every place I looked. I bet I saw over a hundred. They just stood there and let me watch as they ate.

They still look rather healthy but I know they have been struggling
