Here Are Some Interesting Tidbits

My Vaquero, Compadre, Golden and Eldorado can not discriminate out a dime and copper penny, but my Bandido II uMax can. The dime and copper penny discriminate out at "9" on the discrimination scale. If it's still beeping when I turn it to "9", it's a quarter or better. The Bandido appears to have a broader discrimination span in the foil and nickle range than my other Tesoro detectors. Also, it hits as hard on a nickel as it does a quarter. However, It does not detect tiny gold jewelry as well as the Compadre does, but it's not far behind.

I didn't have anything better to do, so I played around with my detectors at home today, because it's way too hot to get out to do some serious metal detecting..

I'm curious to know why only the Bandido can discriminate out dimes and pennies. What makes it different?

That could explain it, but I believe the Golden has ED120 discrimination. The Tesoro Silver uMax has ED120, can it discriminate out a dime?

Both of my Tejon discs knock out dimes (silver & Modern) and pennies when cranked all the way up
