Is anyone using the Explorer only! to pinpoint
with any success? Everyone seems to need all these probes, did I make a mistake buying the SX?
thanks for any help you might have....

I JUST USE MY EXPLORER. I DID, HOWEVER, MODIFY IT SOMEWHAT. YOU NEED TO TAKE A PERMINATE MARKER (LIKE A SHARPIE) OR WHAT THEY CALL A PAINT PENCIL AND MAKE 4 MARKES ON YOUR COIL. MARK THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE COIL (ON TOP) AS IF YOU WERE DRAWING A LINE DOWN THE CENTER FROM FRONT TO BACK. THEN DO THE SAME THING ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE COIL GOING THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE COIL. NOW WHEN YOU SWING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT TO LEFT IN PINPOINT YOU CAN LOCATE WHERE THE COIL IS POSITIONED BY WHERE THE FRONT AND BACK MARKES LINE UP ON THE GROUND. THEN TURN 90 DEGREES LINING UP THE MARKS ON THE SIDE OF THE COIL WHERE THE FRONT AND BACK MARKS WERE LOCATED ON THE GROUND. I USUALLY REPEAT THIS 2 OR 3 TIMES AND HAVE FOUND THAT 90 PERCENT OF THE TIME I AM WITHIN 1/2 INCH OF BEING DIRECTLY OVER MY TARGET.
GOOD LUCK AND HH, Sam
