i bought a Nikon Coolpix S5 last week.i like it so far but i have a problem...it does not have a view finder to view through just the Monitor Led.and when you take indoor pic's its fine but if you walk outside and its a bright sunny day the Monitor goes totally black and you cant see the subject to take the pic.iv read the book 3 times and cant find if there is a setting you need to change to shoot in high light conditions. i found the option to adjust Monitor light from 4/defalt to 5 and it did help but in bright sunlight you still can only barely see subject?

Not sure if it'll fit your camera but I use one of the following (scroll downwards to see the various options):

The one with the magnifier works great for me. YMMV

Good luck!
