Help!!!

Hi all,
I'm looking to purchase a new Minelab before Christmas, but need some advice on which to buy. It will either be an Explorer SE, X-terra 70 or the Quattro. Price aside which will give the most depth on the beach? Which is a better all rounder? I have heard that the Quattro gets a bit heavy after a long days detecting.
I use a Goldscan as my principle beach machine, but I need a back up.

Given your criteria and the selection that you specified, I would recommend the Quattro. Since you dig most everything on the beach, all the additional info and capability of the SE is a bit of overkill. And in my opinion, the X70 is too frequency-limited to be a viable beach machine. That leaves the Quattro, which is one of the deepest machines at the beach I've ever seen.

I use an Excalibur as my beach machine but also had the Quattro and compared them side-by-side many times and the Quattro is deeper by a good bit. Unfortunately the Quattro isn't waterproof. And it has more info than you need for the beach...the Excal has the tones and that's more than enough for me. That said, the Quattro has the advantage of also being a very capable land machine, so more versatility there as a backup. My two cents...

Yeah, I typed "Excal" instead of Quattro in one spot and it changed everything!

And I wasn't drinking...I'm at work!
