I am about sick of my Dimage 5. It won't focus half the time and I have to be a mile away from anything to get the macro to focus. I can get good photos outside of coins but I can't get a picture worth a crap in the house. Here are a couple pictures I just took on the table I made to sell stuff on ebay. Straight out of the camera. Econo mode and no fill flash. 1000 watt halogen shop light on the right side. Some 4 big bulb photo light I bought at a resell shop on the left. The bulbs don't say how many watts but it is super bright. The bulbs say 4 hour burn life or something like that. Then I have 4 shop lights, one on each corner with 100 watt bulbs each. All this light is right on top of it and well lit. It gets so hot with these lights on just a minute or two. What is going on? Do I still need fill flash on top of all that? Do I need to adjust the white balance or some other settings? I just use it in auto mode. This is too expensive of a camera to not take any better pictures than this!

Not too helpful at times until you make a post asking why your question isn't good enough to get an answer and then you usually get a couple answers... I just bought Audrey the Dimage F100 and it takes great macros.

White balance, not lack of light. The one dude edited the bottle and car pictures I posted with photoshop and they look awesome. I have to play with my settings more than I have in the past. I know the camera is capable but with me being partially colorblind it is hard for me to edit pictures and get them looking like they should.
I don't have a problem with macro outside. Inside I just have to figure out how to do it better.
