help

antsy

New member
my F2 never seems to go down more than 3 inches and i never seem to be digging up the same thing a it says i will be digging up. did i get ripped of? i feel like its a poece of junk

I would try some air tests with different coins. I would try a zinc penny, a nickel, a dime and a quarter and see what the display says. It should have no problems correctly identifying them. If it will not id them correctly with an air test maybe the detector is defective. Sometimes trash does id as good targets. I think any metal detector gets fooled by trash targets sometimes. My daughter has one and it will hit a quarter over 6 inches in the ground. I think for the money they are a real good deal.

The F2 is certainly no piece of junk and will hit targets at 5" with the 4" coil. Don't be afraid to lower sensitivity to very low levels especially using the 8" coil and even the 4" coils at trashy sites. Sweep your coil at different angles when attempting to decipher a target id and only dig the repeatable target id's until you learn the variability of target response. Your problems are most likely self inflicted due to a lack of experience but can be less antsy once you attain some inground hunting time. Take the time to learn the target response at various settings, use little discrimination and dig as many targets as possible to learn what the detector is telling you. Good luck HH Bill
