Help with volume

A

Guest
I have my volume set to max and most if not all signals seem weak. With this exception, the XS performs well. Am I missing something that should be adjusted to change pitch along with volume? Perserverance will prevail here...
Thanks
Paul

If so, is the volume turned down on them?
How loud is it without headphones plugged in? Any louder?

If your headphones have adjustable volume, make sure it's up; also try another set of headphones. <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

I use headphones and the volume is turned up. I just want to be sure I didn't miss something with the XS volume, gain, tone, etc. that makes signals more distinct. I have accepted the fact that this is part of the learning of the XS.

...are you using, or are you talking about the Minelab stock headphones?

I'm using KOSS headphones. Stereo with volume turned up. The headphones seem to be no problem. With air tests using these phones, I get an excellent response.

Paul,
If you go to the menu and have the volume turned up full then if you up the gain the volume on the deeper target will sound the same as the surface one and hard to tell the depth. This is the only volume adjustment you have. Now being I am hard of hearing I run a higher gain and use the Timberwolf headphone as they have the best volume for us that are hard of hearing. I wish the Explorer had a bit more volume myself.

Make sure you have variability and limits to full, it might not increase volume but will expand the high end tones
