Help with Sovergn GT meter

For Beach combing leave your meter at home, because your going be digging all good sounding targets above iron, One less distraction to deal with.

Now if you plan on hunting your Local Parks, then the meter would be handy

I would try Ebay or like Goodmore states the classifieds here and if your going to hip mount your GT and plan on keeping it for a while, then I would look in to Joe Patrick's meter .

Any of the Sovereign meters and the SunRay meters will work.
Some of the Sovereign meters have what they call a 180 rescale nod done to them.
I am not sure exactly why ... I think it expands the number range.

I have one Sovereign XS meter here.
I do not know if it has been rescaled or not as I have never used it.
Extra weight on an already heavy detector and I hunt by sound.
In fact I need to check it to see it it does work.
It might be one I have had problems with in the past.

**** Update ... just tested this meter on XS-2A and the GT.

It works but the scaling is whacked up.
Quarter = 587
Pull tab = 465
Something is not right with this XS-2 meter.

Don't you have a dial on that thing to adjust to the proper number like other meters?

Yes ... it has the pot control ... but does not seem to matter where it is set.
I think the meter is whacked.

Sounds like the POT is bad. Easy fix. You should see the meter move in numbers if the POT works in any way. Also, you didn't have the machine in All Metal or PP did you? That disables the meter.
