Help with ring

Member
Went out yesterday and a ring if found has two marks inside it one is a number 6 witch I guess is the size the other is NV it looks like gold or gold plating. The reason I say gold plating is because it had what looked like tarnish and I know gold does not tarnish and when I cleaned it off it looks like copper or some other metal underneath it. Has anyone seen a ring with these marks?

Its a pretty good rule of thumb, if you see the size stamped inside, its junk ring, most probably plated.

Sounds like junk maybe but gold rings can tarnish. (especially 10K rings) I've found some that were almost black. It all depends on the soil and metal objects lying adjacent to the ring.
