Help with Repair of White's PI Pro U/W headphones

Hi there. I am having some issues with my Whites PI pro unit's headphones. On one side of the headphones (left phone), the mounting bracket (cheap plastic) has broken off, and I really don't want to buy a whole new set due to this from White's. Does anyone know the trick how to get the headphones open (separating the black part from the yellow part on each phone). I will post a picture of what I am describing later, but maybe someone knows a way to get the phones open without destroying them - since each phone seems to be molded solid - there is a groove between the black and yellow sections, but I think it will have to be cut apart with a dremel or exacto knife and then glued back. If I can get this part open, I will probably screw the phone to the mounting bracket with a metal screw (no more plastic) and then glue the two sections back together.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

I don't have any experience with that exact model of headphones however I have reworked many other types. What I have normally found out on these is you will have to remove the ear pad. Once this is off there is usually a couple of screws you can remove to gain access to the inside of the the ear "cup". The trick is to get the pad off without destroying it and then being able to get it back on. Again let me state that I have not worked on that model of headphone. Good luck with your repair.
