Help with possible bad coil?

Does anyone know how many wires are soldered to the connector on the Advantage coils? I pulled the connector apart and see that there are 4 wires but only 3 are soldered to the connector. I can't tell if the black wire was soldered at one time or not. I didn't see any wire fall out either. It doesn't seem right that the wire would break close to the plastic and at the solder at the same time. Thanks !

All the coils I have redone have all the wires soldered on. The GT sov has 4 I believe and all are soldered onto terminals. I think the Exp. Se coils h ave 5 but all the coils use all the wires. Also in real tight quarters so anything could happen in there. Someone else out there who shortens the wires on them should be able to get you a diagram ; I would but we have been cleaning house to sell and move and I will look but not sure I still have one. I know you can go on line and buy the connectors I think they are listed as microphone connectors and by pin numbers. Good luck Grumpy

Thanks grumpy, I'm electronically challenged and haven't soldered anything for years so I might just scrap it and find a used one to replace it. Thanks again for the help.

Might be best I have had some real good luck doing it and some didnt work so cant vote either way.
Good Luck in whichever
