Help with MXT problem

My MXT plug where the headphones fit seems loose and the headphones cut in and out. Is this something that I can fix or am I going to have to send it in to Whites?

This all depends on why the jack is loose...Is it loose from the nut untightrening, or is it loose where the jack plugs in? If it is the nut, it can be tightened back up easily (unless the threads are stripped)...If it is inside the plug, it can be fixed, but unless your knowledgeable, I would not suggest taking the case apart yourself.

HH,

It is an easy fix if you are handy with basic soldering skills or know someone who is. The part is $5 from White's, the fourth item down. You might have a loose solder joint and you will not even need a new socket, just re-solder the joints.

Like Larry said, "Easy fix", I too had a loose jack and got it fixed and works like a charm. HH, Nancy

Also, assure that is is not a loose connection on your headset or cord as well, which I had on mine. If you have another set, it's worth a try.

Thanks Larry, I make stained glass art so I should have no problem with soldering this. I'll order one. I'm sure it's the plug in the machine because it moves around and I have tried another headphone as well.
