Help with IDing a possible cannonball

http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd202/Lar_Gand/?action=view&current=M4H00988.mp4

Weight: 10lbs roughly, used bathroom scale.

British Cannonballs were in 9lb size so I'm stumped.

This might just be some kind of round steel ball, but why was it in the woods in an OLD park.

Thanks

Sorry meant iron not steel.

The problem with bathroom scales is they usually measure under weight (makes the ladies feel good).

Could a shot put ball weights are from 6 lbs to 16 lbs but none are 10lbs exactly. I found one once but it was at a school and didn't have the corrosion yours has.
I hope its a cannon ball for your sake....great find if it is.

Here is some data that will help: http://www.civilwarartillery.com/shottables.htm

The guys on the Civil War Forum would be a big help too.
