I need some help with ID on this item.I found this the other day with my CZ. It is 1 inch across and in has Woodrough & Mc Parlin Dec 13 1867 Cin Ohio on the inside.

I think I can see it there... Interesting find!

From link below

>>>Lot 312. A rare and very well preserved PANTHER HEAD SAW by Woodrough & Mc Parlin, Cincinnati, Ohio. As famous a tool as any that was ever produced, the Woodrough & McParlin panther head saw was featured in an article about antique tool collecting that was published in Smithsonian Magazine approximately 14 years ago. Based on a design patent issued to J.R. Woodrough on January 13, 1880, the saw has as its principal feature a handle that is carved in the shape of a panther's head. We are aware of less than a dozen examples of this rare saw. This one is complete and intact, but has had most of the original blade filed away from use. The handle is in clean and sound condition and the saw would benefit from being fitted with a new blade. (GOOD+).(300.00 - 600.00) Length: 25.00 Inches.<<

That was my first post on this board and I just want to thank all of you for the help. I have only been metal detecting for about one year. I can not believe I waited this long to try it.
