Okay, we have all found horseshoes before, but one this small? I found this at a calvery skirmish site in Raleigh NC..I don't think this came from a horse..Any ideas? Thanks for the help! TedNC

The one below measures 1-1/2" x 4-1/2"

of the shape of the shoe. A mule hoof is smaller and longer than a horse hoof. I think that this is a side and part of the front of a mule shoe that had rusted and then broken at the front. The front of the shoe gets the most wear and the metal gets very thin prior to breaking. Please have a great day!
