help with gtp 1350

I have a new gtp1350 I have been to the beach,its ehh ok in the dry sand.... but I am having one heck of a time in the wet sand and shallow water.Now I was told to call garrett to findout if some chip for the salt waterwas put inmy machine..as its NOT working at all in salt water...I am talking low salt water..I have tried eveything from upping the disc. to lowering it....can someone help me...I am kinda disquisted with this on the beach...and I am still under two year warranty... help please.
 
bootybay i have a 1350 but have never hunted any saltwater beach's however have you gone into the settings and turned the salt elimination on?
if not try it.

Try salt elimination and turn the sensitivity down a yard. You can call Garrett or email Mary Penson at maryp@garrett.com and see if you detector has the new mineralization chip in it. If not you can send it in and have it installed.
