help with ground balance

in an area with no miniralization , the threshold doesn't change no matter which way you turn the ground balance knob. so where are you
to set the knob on a machine like the v or t

If you push the coil to the ground and the threshold doesn't go up indicating a positive balance, or if you pull the coil up and the threshold doesn't blank first then give a tone, you are not negatively balanced...if you pump up and down and the threshold seems (for the most part) to keep its level constant (sound doesn't change much) you're ok.

It's only when the threshold seems to change either + or - that your machine would be telling you of an imbalance.

So if there isn't any change in the sound you're set!

I believe if there's no change in the GB then set the control midway. Turn all the way clockwise or anticlockwise until you feel a slight drag...this is the end of the range. Then turn the other way for about 2 turns...this should be about midway as it's a 3 3/4 turn control.

I've never heard of a place with NO mineralization.
