Help With CZ5

Prospector

New member
Hello: Could anyone tell me about the cz5 as far as depth and ability to finds relics and coins. I am particularly interested in how it does on gold coins.

Mainly, soil mineralization and amount of trash in the ground.

I use a CZ-5 as my main land machine. I also have all three coils, each on their own lower- and middle-stem extensions.

Once you properly ground balance the detector, you just need to swing it slow, swing it low, and pay attention to what it's telling you. I've pulled good coins out of trash infested ground, where the goodies were easily 6" deep or deeper. Imagine pulltabs couple of feet, and iron twist-ties inbetween that, and bottlecaps scattered in the mix as well.

Here in OK, and in the iron-rich dirt up in MI, I've never pulled a dime from 10", but have pulled some quarters from that deep.

I can't help you with the Gold coins. I've never found one. From what I've read, due to their size, they can come in all over the meter. Basically, if you want a gold coin, dig everything. Good luck.

HH from Allen in OK

Sort of a loaded question as it all depends on operator expertise and above all the ground your hunting in..having used a lot of different units I can say coil for coil as deep as any and deeper than most...
Judging from the gold jewelry I have found imagine if its there you will find it but as from a one dollar to twenty dollar not to mention gold foreign coins can come in from foil to quarter on a meter hope you have a strong back to dig all..Gold coin for most would be a one in a lifetime find and many bever find one...Locally of the gold coins found several were in old change purses with other coins and one was found while digging a silver coin. I know one fellow found two in one field and fellows that have hunted many years without finding one so good luck in your ventures...Down and dirty not many around to be found and being they vary so greatly on a meter many are left in the ground...
