Help with Coin ID please ( oops wrong forum, please move to Whatzit)

This is my first post to this forum, so hi. Started detecting with a Coinmaster 2 months ago and recently bought an E-Trac because I am hooked. Have found many things but no silver coins yet, just a small silver ring. But this is not why I made this thread.

I would like some ideas on what type coin this might be. I dug it out of a ball field park yesterday. I dug lots of dimes and quarters, no silver yet, so it does not look like it has been detected much.

Here is the coin. It is rather unique and does not fit any US coin I can find. Maybe a fractional British Farthing, but I do not know.
It definitely has some letters or symbols around the edge and a raised area in the middle.

I know it is a long shot with not much to go on, but the size is really a unique size.

Thanks for looking.

16mm in diameter, very thin and worn.
Found in New England around a ball field in back of an old school around some hundred year old trees.
looks like copper based on the green oxidation.

here are the picks.

with a dime for size comparison
