Hi everyone, just recently got back into the hoppy of detecting. --- Have 4 new detectors, from beginners models to top of line. Here's my question, ---- It seems that all of the coins that I have found, maybe 200 or so, are all modern coins, --- most are clad pennies, some copper, a couple of wheaties, with a few dimes and quarters, and maybe 2 nickels. I have dug them down to approx 7-8 inches, most are 3-4 inches. Why am I not finding any silver coins. Is it because they are deeper, and I am not detecting their signal? I will admit that I am hunting some trashy areas, and some front yards of old boarded up homes. --- I run my sensitivity settings as high as I can get by with, and am using various coils, (4.5" to 10"), Do coins tend to settle deeper every year? I have read many times of people in Europe find old Roman coins and artifacts. Not me, not even 1 silver coin yet. ---- I live in central Indiana, and don't expect to find WWI, artifacts, Roman coins, or even Civil War relics, ( only 1 small skirmish was fought in Indiana), --- Would appreciate your feedback, Thanks in advance, TTF
