Help with coil issues please

trigger

New member
I have this search coil i've aquired for my Euro sabre. But the trouble i'm having is finding a cover for it.
I was just wondering if anybody might know from which machine it came from.
Someone thinks it might be from a Pillar 4 and is a solid concentric.
It measures 8 1/4" wide and about 1/2" deep.
I've enclosed some pictures of it and have placed an 8 1/2" widescan to give it some scale.
If anyone knows what machine it is from and maybe where i can get a cover from, that would be a great help.

Trigger, I am unable to offer you a coil cover.

I've never used one, and my coils have all lasted over 10 years and going strong.
You really shouldn't 'scrub' the ground, just pass over it...

There is an option for you.
Some time back a fellow described multiple coats of a heavy marine paint, to protect his coil.
Another suggested the product used for spray-in pickup truck bed liners.

Good luck !

Back in the day before coil covers were invented we cut a big rubber band out of a car inner tube and put that around the edge of coil. Unless you are using it for prospecting you dont need a cover. The only coils I have worn down were on nugget hunter detectors (gold likes to hide in rocks).

Home depot sells a spray on plastic textured paint, specifically made for lawn furniture (plastic) , works well.
