The Humus ground may also be your enemy...I have found that even in wet wood bark, I have to turn the SENS down to about 9 o'clock position...the water retention of this stuff just makes the detector go nuts...As stated earlier...gold is going to give you a low tone for small items, and a medium tone for larger items....It will show up in the 5 cent to the pull tab range most of the time...Silver will show as 10 cent to $1 depending on its size...the larger it is, the farther to the right it will show, and will always give a high tone...multiple items next to each other, may sound off with multiple fast tones, or may show up totally different than what is really present...just like a large aluminum can can show as a quarter sometimes...large rusty iron shows up as 50 cents or a dollar...It just takes digging every thing your hear...keep your SENS turned low, and your DISC Notch turned all the way to the left to start, and dig Everything...remember what different objects register as, and soon, you will know 80 percent of the time what is beneath your coil...It just takes practice and hands on experience. Also, if you plan to hunt for gold nuggets, get the 4" coil if you do not have it already, and work slow with it...overlap your swings, and work SLOW...
