Whodathunk I would find this strange whatzit.......

I was near Fort Ringgold in South Texas, and found this bit of unknown.....it is some kind of pot metal, solid, kinda bumpy.......does anyone know what it is? Thanks! The intriguing aspect is the hole in the end, and the oddly shaped center. I assumed it was straight when used, but I attempted to see if it would flex.....sigh.......it broke. Somebody solve the riddle here.....

a belt tip ?

OK, here is a photo with measurements.....hep me hep me!

Total length, if the tail were straightened out, would be 5-3/4 inches long. The larger part is 2-3/4 inches wide if the bent side were straightened out. The cut out is 1-1/2 inch long and 3/4 inch wide near the pointed end. The drilled hole hear the pinted end is about 1/8 inch dia. The arrow looking part is3 inches in length.....hopefully this will help.

Any ideas? Don't think it is a belt buckle end.....
