My buddy and I hit a old piece of ground this morning that gives up only but an occasional oldie, but just enough to continue to draw us back on occasion. My hunting buddy Chris, got one of his bucket list coin finds this morning and his oldest silver coin ever. Using his A T Pro with 11" coil he recovered a 1853o Seated half dime. Unfortunately it is holed and well worn and yet I don't know if it is with or without arrows. If it's without arrows only 160,000 were minted.

Me, I got over a couple of whats it, along with a couple of period pieces of lead, a 45 wheat and a 64d Rosie, besides some clad and Memorials. The 2 pieces of wire were in the dirt with the Rosie and the tid was 80. Don't know what the star is, but one of the stars has some lettering and maybe with a little more cleaning the word may help for determining what it is. The big piece was all of 12" deep. Had a big feel to it, but due to the age of the spot I went for it hoping for a plate of some kind. It appears to have an man with a (possible) horn in his hand and a up-right ladder behind him. ANYBODY HAVE AND THOUGHTS OF WHAT IT MIGHT BE? I was also swinging the A T Pro with 11" stock coil. HH jim tn

I believe the big item is part of a Fireman's badge/award. A guess would be early 1900.
You could contact http://www.badgevalues.com/ they may be able to help more than I have.

I think you may have pegged it. I will do some further checking. Thanks a bunch. It is about hand palm size and the top portion appears to have a rusted screw still in tack? HH jim tn

fireman with hose nozzle draped over his shoulder..climbing or descending ladder. Might be a helmet emblem
