Help Whatzit?

Steelhead

Found by an old stone foundation in SE PA. Looks they were cut off of something possibly.

Google "vintage match safe"

Size of each is about 3x3.5

Thanks, could be..

That sounds a little too big for a match safe, the ones I have found are about 2x2.5". There is little doubt the two halves were once soldered together and there was a top/bottom hinged piece that you still might find close to where you found the other pieces. A match safe images will get you going in the right direction though. Good luck.

Excellent! Thanks for the help!

Power Flask

I thought maybe snuff box but anything hinged at the flat side would make picture upside down.
Same is true for powder or shot flask the pic would be upside down.
So if its half of something it would be the top half, and seems too big to be top half of match safe.
Here are pics of flask and a snuff box showing what I mean.
