New member
OK here's my problem, my qd 2 is alot smarter than I am .never had a md before so I thought OK this tells me whats there and how deep to go, WRONG .so I tried setting the thing the way the book said , now have 2 new pools in the back yard .and 2 old coke cans .so anyone have any ideals, any help will be welcomed.oh yeah if anyone wants to swim come on

I have a QD II also: I set the Sens on about 1 o'clock some times 3 o'clock set the dis. at about 11 o'clock or higher to get rid of the iron , I mostly dig the mid tones an high tones,
low tones are junk most of the time but nickels come in on the low tone also, an so do gold (digging low tones depends where I'm at ) public area's have a lot of trash in them
the QD II comes on in the AL metal mode when turned on, you can use the three button's (Dis.,,Notch, An auto Notch) to get rid of the iron foil and other junk,,
but if you dis. to much you may louse good target's also. Ck your book on set up,, an use different object's to learn the 3 tones an where to set your dis. as you set it higher you can dis out different metals.
and ck your led readings most of the time it will tell you what you found, some time's it Lie's too,, the depth gage is close most of the time that lies too LOL but both work well I think,
Back yard's not a good place to practice keep in min that you may have telephone wires an other cables under ground, an gas lines they all give off a signal tone. I re posted two good videos a few days ago ck the link for Help movies

Good Luck Tabago

I'm not seeing where you are having a problem bossman. Sometimes a good deep signal doesn't turn out to be a good find. Sometimes it does. Kind of like drawing the old maid. It happens, you move on. You have to dig some junk to find the good stuff. Most of the good stuff you will find will be stuff you didn't know you were looking for. Most machines become less accurate at correctly identifying deeper targets. The tone will tell you much more about the conductivity of the target. Depth alters ID. Forge on Bossman! Once you start hitting the good stuff, and you will, you will care less and less about the time you spent digging junk. Frustration will turn to addiction. GL & HH, JJ

that's a good vid you made, tabago. it should help the bossman out a lot. i also have a pioneer 202, and it's done very well. perhaps bossman should create a test garden, with different targets buried at different depths, and practice his pinpointing and method of recoveries. jj also gave good advice. thanks, and hh,

Hi GRAY GHOST: On the video I can't take credit for it I didn't make it,, I found it on the web when I first got my QD II,, I think GoGoGopher was the first to post it here
It was a grate help to me , But who ever made it my hat's off to them,, I thank the Mfg. should pack such a video with their products, it would boost their sales an help the first timer

I will repost my vids here also...I think it is good to drag em up from time to time...might be good to put some of these as stickies that will stay on the site permanantly...
I have made a few mistakes in these videos...I was NOT digging carefully, as this is my own back yard, and the targets were not Silver coins or anything of value...You should always dig carefully and responsibly in the field. When you leave your hole, you want it to look like you were NEVER there...

These pics are of my Teknetics Pin Pointer taken apart...Note the distance from the tip...This is NOT typical..I adjusted the sensitivity to reach a little farther, but it also burns batteries quicker...

Hope this helps some of the new folks...Amazing what a cheap (not that cheap) Kodak camera will do...Happy Hunting...

GoGoGopher I Thank That would be a good Ideal,, putting stickies that will stay on the site permanantly...for the movies , I thank most people come here looking for help
as I did,, an I found A lot of help! but like every one else I stayed LOL,, I concider this Url As a big part of my MD-ing An look forward to opening this page every day

I see my videos do not run ...musta copied the wrong link from photobucket, so here we go again...I will post them in a new thread...
