The 6000s are good machines and do have a bit of a learning curve. I upgrade from a 6000 to the XLT and never looked back.
There are a lot of options like the Matrix M-6 and the Tesoro 's. I own an XLT, an M-6 and a Tesoro Cibola. They all get used.
Buying a used machine is always a bit of a crapshoot. Sometimes you get someone else's problem.
Most of the modern "beep and dig" machines are very easy to use and will give good performance.

All 6000 machines give very good results in the field.Older are bigger in size....6000 is a winner machine and has many coils to arm it up with..

Solid machine that is still holding it's own. Never checked ebay but under 250'd be fair. (Performs better than 250.00 by a long shot.)

The first three (blue box type) you listed are good machines and will operate with bounty hunter coils and the new Fisher F-4 DD ecliptic coil with an adapter, So you have a wide range of coils to choose from if you do purchase any of the three blue box detectors you are looking at as long as you have a bounty hunter/whites coil adapter. Also, The three you are looking at use a toggle switch to preform a air/ground balance. The disadvantage to this is when you turn off the detector you need to conduct a proper GB again.

The forth detector (Whites 5900/Di Pro SL Metal detector) you listed would be my choice for several reasons, Better balanced and has an arm-cup, Manual ground balance and has the larger 950 coil.

However, It uses a different kHz so bounty hunter coils will not work with the 5900/Di Pro SL. The manual ground balance is a neat feature, You can turn off the detector and back on without conducting another GB if you're in the same general area.

Good luck,

You may be happier with a newer lighter machine for the same price. There is a IDX Pro available there , being bid on for a fraction of its original cost for now.
