Help requested with tough decision

If you could buy a mint F70 for $450 shipped or a new T2 for $525 shipped, what would you do? I hunt fields, woods, trails, cellar holes, etc for Colonial relics and coins. Thanks for any help. I want to make a decision tonight.

The big difference seeming right now is that there are three coils available for the F 70. Although a small coil is either just out or will be shortly for the T 2, I believe. Good luck with your decision. You won't go wrong with either. HH jim tn

Get the F70 more coils more control I liked it better then the T2 but I love the F75 even more

I agree with low boy. Get the F 70. I recently got a mint F 70 for a great price to back up my F 75. The 11" DD coil on the F 70 is a killer. Not quite as deep as the F-75, but a great back up machine. Plus, the 6" coil works with both detectors and is very deep. Not much of a loss in depth, in spite of being only a 6" coil. Now if Fisher would bome out with a larger coil (say 14') for the F75/F 70, my arsenal would be complete. I've heard of the SEF coil, but hear bad things about them. I'm not sold on after market coils. I prefer the coils made by the original manufacturing.I haven't really used the T 2, but Andy Sabaches (I hope I spelled it right) website compares the T2 with the F 75, and he prefers the F 75. Since the F 70 is close to the F 75, I'd go that route if it were me.

keep on diggin'

T2 is awsome in iron sites. Your list indicates you may be able to use the T2 a little better on the areas you list.

I use an F75, and have used a friends T2..they both work well..but from all the posts I have read so does the F70.

One thing to remember, and this is a deal breaker for me, is that the T2 DOESN'T retain settings when turned off. ..Willy.

Thank you for some excellent advice, gentlemen. I appreciate you all taking the time to reply and help me out. In the end, I did decide on the F70. I wish that I could have them both! Happy Holidays!

The F70 is very deep.....the T2 better & my choice around the iron of the cellar holes youi mentioned. With the $ you saved, you can maybe try to get a DD coil or the small coil like the F75 has to help you in the iron...

Great advise gentlemen! In the end,I decided on the mint F70. The seller is including the original bill of sale which may or may not help me out with the warranty issue. Bill, I like the way you think about buying an extra coil with the money saved to help defeat iron. Great advise. I thank every one of you for taking the time to reply. I just purchased some Koss UR-30 headphones to use with my new toy. I hope that is a good choice. Next, more coils, in-line probe, and a nice padded bag and I will be all set. I am looking forward to reworking some of my great sites! Happy Holidays!
