Excellent choice you made. Besides the good advice already given here...there is Larry (IL) and Monte...who's brains you can pick. Bet you find some cool stuff with the 5900.
 
Thanks for the Kudos but I'm at a loss with the 5900, I never used one. From what I hear though, it is one of the best Analog out there.

Just teasing I might need a license..... Picked it up for some cellar hole spots loaded with everything. The Se pro stayed in Null almost the whole hunt..couldn't even pick the good next to or under all the junk..

..I picked up a super clean 5900 Di Pro SL (cb) back in 2007 like brand new in the box. I bought one to compare to my 6000 Pro XL, which I also bought new in the box. It is very similar in operating characteristics to the 6000, but the 5900 has a ten turn ground balance and is a little heavier with it's bigger control box and 4 C cell battery pack. They both have a faster sweep speed (4 filter) requirement than the White's Classic series (2 filter). I think that if you are looking for targets around a cellar hole, a 2 filter detector would suit your needs better than a 5900 with it's moderate to fast sweep speed.
