HELP!!! Please....Minelab Service Advice

Well...I hate to admit it, but I had an accident Saturday morning with my E-Trac. Something fell off a shelf and hit the screen, and tore it internally. The top center of the screen, is torn, and the complete screen is pixilated and has lines. The machine still works fine, I hunted with it all day Saturday, and Sunday, and a few hours yesterday.

What is my best bet for service? Machine is out of warranty. Is Kellyco the only US Service Center? Or should I deal with minelab direct? I read recently that there was a death in the minelab service dept at K-Co, and it was affecting turn around times. What is my best bet for service?

Seriously contemplating ordering a new Etrac so I'm not without a machine for an extended period of time.

I appreciate any input, Thanks in advance, John N

I hate to hear that man. A new screen would probably set you back a few hundred. Kellyco might be the better choice. If you order a new Etrac you can use the old one as a backup.

I would give the guys at Kellyco Repair a call and discuss with them what happened, find out how backlogged they are and get an idea of what it would cost to repair your unit. I had to send them my X-Cal and they returned my call the next morning and I was aware of how long it would take for them to get to my machine. Sorry your machine is broken as I know how that stinks

The LCD screen is about $75 and 1/2 to 1 hour labor at $75 hour so you looking at about $125-$150 to repair it plus return shipping.......According to what I found out Minelab repair at Kellyco is running about 2-2.5 weeks behind at the moment for repairs...

Thank you very much!
