Help on VDI

lambo1

Member
The last few hunts I've been on I have been getting solid signals and VDI's in the very high 30's to low 40's.
Swear I am digging at least a dime when a Memorial and sometimes wheat penny pops up in the hole...Is this right?
There is nothing else in the hole that could be changing the tones or VDI...any suggestions?

Memorials prior to 1983 usually come in the dime range and old wheaties buried for many years with a halo formed also do..Most units will also do the same.

Some older Tek, whites and compass units you can tell the difference to a degree with their meters to cut down the odds but on the whole just part of the hobby...

I know for sure the older pre Zinc pennies come in at higher ID#'s on mine. If I see a 36 even a 38 I am not supprised when I dig an older cent, Beale.
