Help On testing items

New member
I recently got gold testing solutions and have a couple of suspect pices that test positive as gold by acid. They are very light and I would have never thought they were gold. One piece in particular I tested for silver and it turned rust colored where the acid was placed and when put on wet stone test residue and markings are gold as between 10 and 14 K. Is there another metal that may react in the same manner? Thanks for the info.

some of the light stuff might be hollow if its a chain ?see if it crushs easy with small pliers same with earrings,if your not sure about the acid test just bring it to
a jewery store and thay will test it
