Help on replacing 1/8 jack on xs

Hi Everyone I could use a little help.

Recently my 1/8 jack lost the top connecting piece to it; so now the headphones won't stay plugged in. I purchased from Radio Shack a new 1/8th jack but I am unsure of which wires to solder to which location. I am sure its easy but didn't want to guess. I did look at the schmatic on the bag and compared it to the original jack, and they look somewhat different. So can someone just spell it out for me.

For example solder blue wire to 1, then orange wire to 2 or 3, and yellow wire to 4 or 5.

I appreciate the help
thanks

Alright everyone,

I did a few tests and figured it out. So in case anyone needs to do this in the future; this is the schematic; from the plastic wrapper do the following: (By the way it was identical to the old one - Minelab clipped off number 1 and 4 - didn't see it until I removed the hot glue and wires from the old 1/8" jack).

1. Blue wire goes to number 3;
2. Orange wire goes to number 2;
3. Yellow wire goes to number 5;

You can clip off number 1 and number 4.

As well, I soldered the wires on; then found out that it was 1/4 inch too short to stick the head out of the xs opening; so I had to go back put 1 inch wires on each connection to lengthen the line so that the 1/8 jack would fit properly through the xs opening.

Overall, tested it out and works like it should. Hopefully it will last years until I need to replace again.

I'll test it out in the field tomorrow. : )
