Help on MXT choice??

I've had a couple of MXT's over the years and I'm talking to my dealer about picking up another new one. Guess I miss it to much. I'm a fan of the MXT and will use it pretty much for relics most of the time. Love to hunt in the fields and woods with one and love the tones in the relic mode. I used to hunt with zero disc, sensitivity high as possible, relic mode, barely audible threshold, ground in trac.

Anyway, my question for all you MXTers out there that are using or have the Pro, would I benefit by getting the Pro over just a new regular MXT? The ground grab caught my eye but for my hunting the backlight and tones are o.k. but I'm the 2 tone relic tone fan 99% of the time anyway and I can do that on the regular MXT.

Thanks in advance for ya'lls help, looking forward to hearing from you Pro users.

My 1st thought was which coil would you be using most of the time? I like the 12 inch coil that comes with the MXT pro for large open areas but I find myself with the 6x10 or 5.3 eclipse on more often due to the trashy areas I hunt. The backlight is really nice to have for when that hunt runs a little longer than planned. The ground grab is nice when you have a weak signal you want to check quick and not have the auto ground balance track it out. I am really starting to like the tones in C/J mode but all being said I love my MXT pro and don't think you can really go wrong with either.

Short and sweet.......The good ole MXT would suite your needs. Just my humble opinion. HH, Nancy

I appreciate the posts. You are right LuckyDig, I would use the 6x10 and 5.3 most of the time myself. The last MXT that I had was the 300 and I never used the 12" coil, always the 6x10 or smaller. I'm thinking your way Nancy, the good old regular tried and true MXT with 950 stock coil will probably do the trick in my case. :bouncy:

Thanks ya'll,

If you can use the reg. MXT, you can find some good deals on them now,
now that the Pro has come out...

Since the MXT's release I have only had six of them. One of the best detectors White's has ever made, but they have dropped a couple of models that I feel are still some of the best. I refer to the XLT, XL Pro and the Classic III SL and IDX Pro.

Still, a good old MXT with the right search coil (I prefer the 5.3 Eclipse because that 6
