your buckle or box plate could be british revolutionary war period. You may be able to find it by searching on the net under british revolutionary war buckles ect. If it is one of those it could be worth thousands of dollars depending what regiment ect. If thats what it even is. It also could be early american militia buckle. But either way it's more than likely worth several hundred.
