Ok ill start from the beginning. I running my 1350 with 8 rechargeble batteries. Bought new and not pre charged by me. I just put em in there about 12 hours of use. Though i used it 12 hours the power setting continues to show a full charge. Ok so im in the field the machine is on. I push the power button to turn it off. Suddenly all of me features are on salt elim ,tone id, backlight, in pipoint mode. So i decide to go thru the menu and reset the settings. When i go to detect its not hitting any signals. It will make the sound for overload thats it. I took it apart very carefully to see if it was dirty inside. Clean but what i noticed was one of the little palstic threads was not attached. On the board theres this little bundle of 30 0r s0 white plastic threads that go around and attach underneath. One was not attached. I put it together and put on a new coil. Then the display wouldnt even come up, i could here it was on and the menu seemed to work but i couldnt see anything on the screen. Im going to try fresh batteries but im worried somethings very wrong. Any tips or should i try new batteries and if that dont work then just send it in to the repair shop?

Did you try rebooting it when this first started? Contact Mary Penson at Garrett and fill her in on your problem. maryp@garrett.com

When your detector is on the blink after you have turned it on, press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until your detector beeps and it is rebooted - just like you reboot your computer.

And if one is loose from the PCB as you explain, that is a BAD thing. They could control anything from the display, to communication between boards. Call Mary, but you might want to leave out that part about taking the detector apart to clean it...
