LOOKING AT TWO COILS: THE 5.3 ECLIPE AND THE 5"EXCELERATOR------------WHICH ONE BEST FOR THE MXT??NEED SOME FEEDBACK PLEASE.

:pulltab:BILL

It depends on the use. Both are excellent coils. The 5" excelerator is super in the trashiest of sites. It is also very small and it takes a while to cover ground, but in the trashiest of sites I don't know what will beat it. The 5.3 would be an excellent more general purpose small coil. PM me if you decide on the 5". Monte might chime in on this one. Rob

By all means.......yes, it depends on where you're hunting and the soil. Personally I love the 5.3 for an all around small coil. JMHO, Nancy

I have the 5.3 and have to agree that it is an excellent smaller all around coil. The 5" exc. is a widescan (DD)coil so it may be a bit better in really mineralized ground with a just a bit less coverage than the 5.3 and MAYBE a bit better in heavier trash, but the 5.3 handles trash pretty well also.
