Can anyone tell me if a cz6a 10.5 "'coil with 5 pins would work on a 1270 --8.2 kHz detector.THE Coil is a fisher M SCOPE coil not a quicksilver 10.5" coil??Hmmmm thought cz's used only quick silver coils NOT fisher M SCOPE COILS:shrug:

I thought the CZ coils were marked quicksilver. Call to the factory may be in order.

The CZ machines are dual frequency and work at 5 and 15 KHz. Some of the early coils for the CZ5s and maybe 6s were not marked 'Quicksilver' at least I have a couple that way. I doubt they would work on the 1270. Also the CZ coils have a 5pin Male plugs while the 1200 series coils had 5 pin female connectors.

WELL,sent a message to owner still insists that the control box has male pins while the coil has mscope on it with female points:confused:

I'm confused...it's hard to tell from the description...
Are you trying to use a CZ coil on a 1270, or are you trying to use a 1270 coil on a CZ?

Actually, in either case, the answer is a firm no...

Is the description you give in the last quote above a description for the 1270 coil? If so, it is correct description for a 1200 series. (And still will not work on a CZ.)

All of the land based CZs (with the exception of the original CZ-6) use the same coils/configuration.
They all have male pins from the coil cable and the control boxes all have female points.

Important note:
There is a big difference in coil connectors between the CZ6 and the CZ6a.
If your coil cable connector is plastic instead of metal, it's not a CZ-6a...it's an original CZ6, and nothing but an original CZ6 coil will work. (Unless you have your machine converted to CZ6a specs.)

Regardless, in any combination you can come up with, 1200 series coils and CZ coils are not designed to be interchangeable.

Hope this helps,
mike
