Help me understand....

So I picked up a Deus yesterday from Richard at Backwoods and I have a few questions after a couple of hunts. I purchased the 9.5 HF and the WS5's too. Love the portability of this machine and I was planning to use it for coins, jewelry and relics. I am wondering how and why I am getting good sounding signals on iron. On my other machine it will show me the iron on the screen being rejected but I hear nothing. I love that. On the deus I keep getting good tones on junk iron with no read out. Anyway to just notch that out so I dont hear it or see it? Running in Basic 1 at 14K factory on all the settings. Thanks for your help. I would like to credit Calabash Digger's enthusiasm for this purchase. He makes the Deus look fun. :)

If your getting a good high tone over your target. Then slowly back your coil back toward your feet until its not over your target. if its iron it should change to a low tone or grunt sound. that means its iron . Also look at your screen if the horse shoe screen show the left side of horse shop filling up. that's iron. One of the things that helped me the most is going to you tube and looking at xp deus skill school. lots of very good videos. gary is awesome explaining the deus. Hope this helps

I will try backing the coil off for tone changes. As for the horse shoe there was nothing indicating there. Thanks for input, it is really appreciated. :)

Chowbox, watch those iron and good sound that the Deus makes. I found a large cent that had a rusted nail about 2" above it.The Deus gave a iron tone with no VDI, then as I moved around it hit a coin tone, with a jumping VDI. I dug it out and got the nail and ran the Deus back over the hole and still got a good tone, 2" more was a 18?? Large Cent , still trying to clean it some.

Horseshoe won't indicate unless disc is at least 6.2.

Or if the numbers bounce around or drop when you raise the coil probably junk
